A Vocal Direction Framework for Create Music Style
Steer vocals with testable Style language — range feel, tone, phrasing, energy, distance — and use Persona when you need the same voice across tracks.
このTipsは英語で書かれています。他言語は今後追加予定です。
Describe the performance, never a famous person
Celebrity names in Style are brittle and often inconsistent. Instead, write what you want to hear: register, grain, vibrato amount, attack, and how close the voice sits to the mic.
Example: “intimate alto, breathy tone, soft consonants, close dry vocal” beats naming a pop star.
Five knobs that belong in Style
Keep a vocal brief to five controls you can actually hear on playback: range feel (higher/lower), tone color (bright/warm/airy/gritty), phrasing (legato vs clipped), energy (whisper to belted), and distance (dry/close vs roomy).
Put those knobs in the Style lane on Create Music. Keep story words in Lyrics so you can revise either side independently.
- Range feel: “lower baritone lead” / “light higher register”.
- Tone: “warm and rounded” / “thin and bright”.
- Phrasing: “long legato lines” / “syncopated short phrases”.
- Energy: “restrained verse, open chorus”.
- Distance: “dry and forward” / “soft pad of room reverb”.
Make vocal energy follow the Lyrics sections
A verse that shouts and a chorus that whispers fights the Lyrics structure you wrote. Call out section-aware delivery in Style in one short clause, then keep Lyrics section labels honest.
Test the brief on a two-line couplet before committing a full lyric — faster feedback, fewer credits.
Use Persona when consistency matters more than novelty
When you need the same singer character across an EP or series, create a Persona from Custom Mode (upload audio, name and describe the voice) or save a voice from a library track — as described in the Guide Persona section.
Persona does not replace a clear Style vocal brief; it stabilizes identity while Style still sets arrangement and production.
Diagnose common vocal failures by layer
Buried vocal → thin competing mid instruments in Style, or inspect with Split Music. Shouty / harsh → lower energy knob and bright-edge adjectives. Monotone → add phrasing and section contrast in Style, and check that Lyrics chorus lines are shorter and more stressed.
